Random results are part of the beauty of expired film. Excessive grain, discolouration and other imperfections should be expected.

If you happen to get a complete dud, we'll sort it out – neighbour@always823.om

Online submissions will open in March, with digital & physical exhibitions planned for mid 2019.

All participants are invited to share high-resolution digital scans of their entire roll. We’ll share updates with participants via email as well as 823’s channels with more information on how to submit in the following weeks.
Will I make the cut?
This isn't a competition. We will share at least one photo (and hopefully more than that) from every participant across digital and physical mediums.
When is the deadline?
May 15, 2019.
What scans should I provide?
We recommend getting your roll developed and scanned by a photo lab.

Minimum 2000x2000 pixel resolution
High quality Jpegs
Is the film Fuji X-TRA 400?
Yes.
Why expired & relabelled film?
Shooting expired film is a little random and unpredictable – much like the project itself. We hope you can embrace the limitations of the format and find beauty in the unexpected.
I missed out on a roll – can I still enter?
We’re limiting the project to 200 people – it’s just about all we can handle with our small team. Don’t worry - there'll be more projects like this in the future :)
I have more questions.
